ITINERARY

Day 1: From Moshi to Sanya Juu then start riding 62km

You start your bike tour from Sanya juu heading down to Enduimet wildlife management area which borders Amboseli national park. You ride along a dirt road in the park while seeing different types of animals around mountain Kilimanjaro even the elephants then you head to the Maasai villages where you get a beautiful view of mountain Kilimanjaro and its open plains. Your biking tour of the day ends at Sinya which is found in the Maasai homesteads and you will head to your camp.

Day 2: Bike from Enduimet to Sanya 85km

Here, you wrap up your last day of cycling by passing through the Maasai villages along their plantation on the slopes of Kilimanjaro. The tour comprises of several steep ascents and descents while cycling through outskirts and suburbs of Kilimanjaro heading towards Serengeti national park for a hot air balloon and game drive. Day 3: Hot air balloon safari, walking safari & night game drive Serengeti

Today, you will wake up at 4:00am and take your morning breakfast and organize yourself for the hot air balloon safari. By 5:30am you must be at the briefing point where the flight pilot will give you instructions to follow during the flight. At 6:00am, you will start your flight which will last for an hour above in the air. It is an exhilarating tour that most people never get to experience. The balloon flies predominantly over the Seronera river which is the only permanent water source in central Serengeti and it is a perfect place for spotting wildlife. Note that the area around the river is particularly scenic, teeming with open plains, acacia woodlands, hippo’s water pools. The views are guaranteed to be magnificent and after the hot air balloon safari, you will have a walking safari which puts you right in the middle of the savannah. This tour is an educational experience whereby you will learn how to track animals, see and touch flora that comprises the region’s complex food chain. In the evening, you will drive back to the camp for dinner and overnight while watching the sunset and later in the night, you will have a night game drive where you have a glimpse for the local wildlife that others don’t see during the day time. Day 4: Full day game drive

After having your morning breakfast, you will start your game drive in the morning where you will see a lot of animals but most especially you will be luck enough to see a great migration of more than a million wildebeests plus hundreds of thousands of zebras and gazelles undertaking a long trek to a new grazing grounds. You will will see how these wildebeests struggle to cross the Mara river and this is an incredible event which you should not miss. In the mid afternoon, you will drive back at the lodge to take lunch and also rest for a while. Later in the afternoon, you will go for another game drive where you will see the Big 5 animals like the elephants, lions, leopards, cheetahs etc. Know that the park is a section home of elephants, hippos, giraffes, elands etc. In the evening, you will start your journey to Mountain Kilimanjaro national park for hiking. Day 5: From your hotel to Kilimanjaro national park

Mandara hut

After having your morning breakfast, our driver guide will pick you from Kilimanjaro mountain resort and drive you to Kilimanjaro national park gate which takes about 1 hour to reach at the gate. You will register at the park offices and then you will start straight away with your trek walking through the rainforest towards Mandara huts. You will have a side trek to Maundi crater where you be able to see the surrounding of northern Tanzania and some parts of Kenya. While passing through the rainforest, make sure to look for towering Eucalytus tress, Colobus monkeys and birds on your way to Mandara huts.

After having your early morning breakfast, you will start your trek from Mandara huts ascending to Horombo huts. You will leave the glades of the rainforest and continue following an ascending path on the open moorland to the Horombo huts. On your way, you will view Mawenzi and the summit Kibo on a distance which is super amazing to view. You will look for giant lobelias and grounsels even at this point. You will start feeling the effects of the altitude.

You will have a full day resting at Horombo huts while you have some small hiking's around or nearby Mawenzi peak. This trek around Mawenzi peak will depend on you either to hike the peak or you stay at the huts while preparing yourself for tomorrows hike.

Kibo safari camp

You will start your today’s trek after taking your breakfast and then ascend uphill while passing the last watering point while walking onto the saddle of Kilimanjaro between the peaks of Kibo and Mawenzi. The vegetation starts with upper heathland but which later disappears into moonscape. You will have your dinner very early in the evening and sleep early while preparing for the summit climbing in the midnight.

Today, you will wake up in the midnight at 2:00am and have a hot tea and snacks and then after, you will start your last hike to the summit on a steep and heavy scree or snow up to Gilman’s point located on the crater rim. You will continue climbing ascending to Uhuru peak which is the highest point in Africa. Get to know this, that there are unbelievable views at every turn you make on the summit which are incredible. You will take some videos and pictures on the summit of mountain Kilimanjaro which you will show your friends and family members. At having sometime at the summit, you will start descending down stopping for lunch while resting for a short time at Kbo huts and then afterwards continue descending to Horombo huts. Note that climbing the summit is done in the night in the dark so you are required to have a head lamp or flashlight. Remember also that it will be very cold until you start descending down, so you will need to have your warm layers. Remember that this is far the most difficult part of the trek which is comprised of switchbacks and the going is very slow which involves using poles and an optimistic altitude while getting down from the summit.

After having your early morning breakfast, you will have a steady descent taking you down through moorland to the Mandara hut. You will continue slopping down through lush forest path to Kilimanjaro national park at Marangu gate. Remember that the lower elevation it is always wet and muddy so you will use gaiters and trekking poles to help you. Get to know that shorts and T-shirts will be probably the best to wear(keep rain gear and warmer clothing handy). After reaching at Marangu gate of Kilimanjaro, you will meet our driver who will be waiting for you drive you to Moshi town to take your flight to Uganda. Dinner and overnight at Boma hotel.

Day 11: Arrival at Entebbe Airport

Upon your arrival at Entabbe airport, you will find our drive guide waiting for you outside at the arrivals holding a poster bearing the company name for easy identification. After meeting him, he will drive you to Boma hotel in Entebbe where you will spend your overnight while preparing yourself for tomorrow’s activity.

Day 12: Mabamba wetlands in Entebbe

After having your early morning breakfast, you will start your birding safari by driving to Mabamba wetlands in Entebbe. This wetland has got different types of bird species such as White winged Gonolek, Blue breasted bee eater, Afep pigeons, Black shouldered night jar, Blue swallow, Lesser Jacana and shoebill etc. Dinner and overnight at cassia lodge.

Day 13: Kampala to lake Mburo national park

After having your morning breakfast, you will drive to Kampala city for a short tour of the city and then continue with your journey to lake Mburo national park. During the journey, you will have a stopover at the Equator and Royal Drum makers to take some photos and then continue with your journey to Lake Mburo national park which is known for its unique fauna, antelopes, zebras, topis, impala and several acacia associated birds, hippos, crocodiles and with a variety of water birds. Later in the evening, you will drive to Kibale national park for chimpanzee tracking in the forest. Dinner and overnight at Papaya Lake lodge.

Day 14: Chimpanzee tracking in Kibale National park and afternoon Bigodi wetlands walk

After having your morning breakfast, you will drive to the park office by 7am. Meet the park guides for quick briefing and set out for the chimpanzee tracking adventure in Kibale national park. You will be tracking one of the several chimpanzee groups in the Kanyanchu chimpanzee community that is full habituated. It may take 1 hour or 2 to find the chimpanzees which can be heard screaming from a distance. You will spend a maximum of 1 hour with the chimps and then return to the lodge or lunch. After lunch, you will go for a walk in the Bigodi wetlands. The Bigodi wetlands are situated on the edge of Kibale National Park. The wetlands harbor up to 8 species of primates and several other wildlife. After a wonderful nature experience in Bigodi wetlands, you will continue and visit the local communities near the wetlands and learn about their cultures and traditions. Later in the evening, you will drive to Queen Elizabeth national park for a game drive. Dinner and overnight at Irungu forest safari lodge.

Day 15: Full day game drive & boat cruise in Queen Elizabeth national park

After having your morning breakfast, you will start with a morning game drive that exposes you to diverse animals such as the Big 5 (Elephants, buffaloes, Rhinos, big cats like lions, leopards etc). During the evening time, Hyenas, warthogs are spotted along the circuits as you drive along. The park is rich with bird life especially our version of storks in the wetlands and also you will spot the Flamingos when you reach at the salt lake in Kasenyi. You will enjoy a boat cruise on the famous Kazinga channel which is about 36km channel linking lake George and lake Edward. On the bot cruise, you will see hippos, Nile crocodiles and also pigs on the lake shores. . Later in the evening, you will drive to Bwindi national park for gorilla tracking. Dinner and overnight at 4 gorilla lodge.

Day 16: Gorilla Tracking

Today, you will wake up at 5:30am and take your breakfast and start to organize yourself the today’s activity of tracking gorillas in the forest. You will go with your packed food, water, jacket, camera, face mask, a hut and by 6:30am you will be at park headquarters for briefing where you will learn more about different Gorilla families and the rules to follow while tracking. After briefing, you will follow the park rangers who will lead you during the trek. After the trek, you will meet your driver guide at the starting point and drive back to Kampala city for dinner and overnight at Serena hotel.

Day 17: Transfer to Jinja for white Nile rafting

After having your morning breakfast, the driver will come and pick you from your hotel to drive you around Kampala city while having stopovers at some cafes and restaurants. You will get a chance to experience Kampala city life by visiting some places, cultural events and interacting with the locals and then later, you will start your journey to Jinja for rafting. Dinner and overnight at source of the Nile hotel.

Day 18: Rafting in Jinja, bungee jumping, sunset cruise

After having your morning breakfast, our driver guide will come and pick you from your hotel and drive you to Jinja district located in eastern part of Uganda which takes about 2 hours to reach there. After reaching in Jinja town, you will drive straight to your hotel to check in and after that, you will drive towards river Nile for rafting, Kayaking or tubing. The activity takes you rowing through the turbulent sections and rapids of the river Nile. The rapids are graded 4 &5 hence offering some of the best Whitewater rafting experience in the world. This activity will give you time to relax, mingle wither rafters, spot birds, enjoy the nature and watch local fishermen fishing. After rafting, you will have another activity where you will go for bungee jumping and this is one of the craziest activity you will ever do in your life. It involves jumping from a tower which is 44 meters high and down wards the Nile waters with a rope tied to the ankles. Then in the evening, you will have a sunset cruise where you will watch the sunset while enjoying a wonderful time with your family and friends on the majestic River Nile. Enjoy dinner with cold drinks while having great views of the Islands. After the boat cruise, you will drive back to your hotel for overnight at source of the Nile hotel.

Day 19: Jinja town tour, biking around jinja villages

After having your morning breakfast, you will have a tour tour of Jinja tour where you will visit the source of the Nile with its beautiful gardens that are perfect for relaxation and marveling at the Nile river. Visiting the monument of Mahatma Gandhi, markets, churches and Indian old buildings. After the town tour, you will have lunch and in the afternoon, you will have a biking tour around the villages which allows you to get an insight into the lives of the people that live here, the green scenery, and the fresh and cool breezes from Lake Victoria and River Nile, and also exploring the breathtakingly beautiful Lake Victoria Peninsular through single-track dirt roads and experiencing with stunning views. In the evening you while ride back to your hotel for dinner and overnight at the source of the Nile hotel.

Day 20: Quad biking, rafting, tubing, kayaking

After having your morning breakfast, you will jump on the quad bikes and hit the road to visit forests, villages, farms and the banks of the river Nile. You don’t need to have any experience in order to take part in quad biking because we provide free partice before the riding session. After the ride, you will ride back to Jinja town to have lunch and in the evening, you will have the afternoon rafting visiting major rapids of river Nile. The driver will come to pick you and drive you back to your hotel to pack your bags and start your journey to back to Entebbe airport to take your flight back home.
